Veterans Week Celebration

Nov. 4-11

Hoover Public Library

Each year, the city of Hoover honors U.S. veterans in a variety of Veterans Week Celebration events. Most of the activities are held at the Hoover Public Library during the week. Features include flag folding ceremonies, veterans reception, veterans guestbook, vehicle displays, Monday movies, Wall of Honor, art show and children’s poster contest.

Market Noel

Nov. 14-17

Nov. 14 (7-10 p.m.) + Nov. 15 (9 a.m.-8 p.m.) + Nov. 16 (9 a.m.-9 p.m.) + Nov. 17 (9 a.m.-5 p.m.)

Finley Center

Market Noel is coming back to Hoover just in time for the holiday shopping season. The annual shopping fundraiser will feature more than 100 regional and national vendors in fashion, home decor, jewelry, children’s clothes, gourmet food, art and more. Best of all, when you purchase a ticket to Market Noel, you are funding community projects such as Backpack Buddies, Mobile Food Pantry, JLB Second Servings, and Meals on Wheels – each of which provide food to children, families, homeless teens and the elderly. Because the Junior League of Birmingham (JLB) provides both direct funding and trained volunteers to the community, donations double the organization’s impact. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.marketnoel.net. You can also follow the JLB on Facebook (JuniorLeagueBirmingham) or Instagram (@jlbmarketnoel).

Christmas Tree Lighting

Nov. 29

5 p.m.

Hoover City Hall

The city of Hoover will kick off the holiday season at the annual Christmas Tree Lighting, which will feature a Hoover City Schools Choir performance, an HCS student lighting the tree, a snow play area, Santa’s grand entrance atop a fire truck and pictures with children, and light refreshments for all.
