How We Met: At the time, I (Katie) worked in marketing for iHeartMedia, and I sent an invitation for a marketing seminar to Steven’s gym’s Instagram account. He RSVPed to the event. Neither of us had seen each other’s photos before meeting and when he walked in, I was pleasantly surprised! But I continued to pitch him on my marketing tactics. Soon after, we had our first date at a Birmingham Bulls hockey game. Steven grew up playing hockey in St. Louis, and I am a southern girl who loves hockey. So we bonded immediately!

The Wedding Dress: I was SO excited to finally wear my L’amour dress. Surprisingly enough, it sat in Bridal Bliss for over a year during COVID-19.

Favorite Moment: There was so much anticipation for all the special moments after canceling our original celebration due to COVID-19 and moving it to May 1, 2021. Some of the things I looked the most forward to were my dad walking me down the aisle, Steven seeing my wedding dress for the first time, our first dance and the father-daughter dance. I absolutely LOVED our first dance. We danced to “Invisible String” by Taylor Swift, a song that relates to our relationship SO much: “Isn’t just so pretty to think all along there was some invisible string tying you to me.”

Favorite Detail: Ever since day one, Steven tried to guess my favorite flower. He could NEVER figure it out. For our first look, I surprised him by holding my bouquet of white tulips.

What We Are Doing Now: Steven and I opened a business in August 2021, just a few months after our redo wedding. We have been so blessed by the amazing support of Clean Eatz Hoover from our beautiful community.
